Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service (CTEMS) recently received a grant from Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative.

This grant will enable the organization to provide safe sleep education to parents and caregivers along with Graco® Pack ‘n Plays® and crib sheets to families who could not, otherwise, afford safe sleeping environments for their infants.  CTEMS is one of 10 recipients of the 2013 Cribs for Kids® Mini-Grant Program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

“This grant will allow us to better fulfill our mission to improve community health to all of our service areas,” said Jeff Kelly, Executive Director of CTEMS.  In conjunction with the launch of our “Safe Landing” program, where we will go out and perform car seat checks, teach CPR, discuss making the home a safer place for children and giving safe sleeping education for infants, the addition of being able to replace unsafe sleeping units at no cost to the residents or the service is a huge benefit to everyone.
