News & Annoucements
2020 Pennsylvania EMS Agency of the YearCranberry Township PA 9/15/2020 It is with great pride and humility that Cranberry Township EMS (CTEMS) is announcing that we have been named the “2020 Pennsylvania EMS Agency of the Year” in the Small Volume Division (<5000 calls)” by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS and the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council. This award is a direct reflection of our dedicated personnel who work tirelessly day in and day out to provide the best prehospital emergency medical care possible and CTEMS’ commitment to helping keep our communities safe. There are over 1200 EMS Agencies in PA, and it is an honor and a privilege that the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS, and the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council have deemed Cranberry Township EMS the best small volume EMS agency for 2020! What makes Cranberry Township EMS a step above the rest is not only our Emergency and Non-Emergency Response and treatment, but our Community Outreach, EMS Education, and Preparedness. In 2019, CTEMS answered 4012 calls for service serving the communities of Cranberry Township, Seven Fields Boro, and New Sewickley Township in southwest Butler and East-Central Beaver County. Beyond responding to medical calls, we also proud of our robust community outreach. In 2019 CTEMS trained 382 people in CPR, helped parents/caregivers properly install and use their child safety seat through 259 Car Seat checks, performed 32 Safe Landings visits (which is one of the only Community Medicine Pediatric programs in the country), and attended 102 Community Events that touched over 5300 people in our local communities. It was a busy year for CTEMS on all fronts, however, highlight was on November 9th of 2019 when as part of our annual Save a Life Saturday, we held a survivor’s reunion with not one, not two, but three survivors of Cardiac Arrest in our communities. EMS is rough, the hours are long, the pay is terrible, but the chance to reunite and know you made a difference in not only these gentlemen’s lives but their families as well makes the job worth it. Cranberry Township EMS epitomizes what an EMS agency should be, an integral part of our community’s health and safety, not just taking people to the hospital.
