Dear Friends of EMS:
For over 50 years, Cranberry Township Emergency Medical Service (CTEMS) has been there for you in your time of need, and now we need you to be there for ours.
COVID-19 has had a detrimental impact on CTEMS, resulting in decreased calls for service. As an operation that gets 90% of its revenue from patient transportation to the hospital, this has caused significant revenue shortages that will no longer allow CTEMS to staff at previous levels. As we enter this “new normal,” changes in staffing levels could lead to longer wait times for an ambulance in your time of need. This problem isn’t unique just to CTEMS but all of EMS, including our neighboring services.
As a 501c3 Non-Profit that is not tax-funded like the Fire and Police Department, we survive solely on insurance reimbursements, subscription campaigns, and donations, all of which were decreasing before COVID-19, but are now accelerated. That is why we are reaching out to you, a valuable member of our community to help us with this challenge. Your tax-deductible Capital Campaign donation will help CTEMS continue to provide the highest quality emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! All proceeds from the Capital Campaignare used to offset the cost of capital projects such as the replacement of equipment and to help offset some of our operational expenses and are direly needed due to the consequences of COVID-19. We hope that as a valued member of the community, our services are appreciated and can be valued by the residents and businesses we serve.

Individual ($45.00) - Covers ONLY the individual who completes the form.
Senior Citizen ($40.00) - Covers an individual or couple that are 62 years of age or older, as well as all other permanent residents of that household.

Why should I subscribe?
Your subscription assures that Cranberry Township EMS will have the staff, vehicles, and equipment required to provide around-the-clock protection for you and your family in the event of an emergency. Your paid subscription shows that you support YOUR EMS by providing the revenue needed to help operate the system.
Does my subscription provide coverage outside of the community?
Yes, it does. Cranberry Township EMS maintains reciprocal agreements with all of our immediately surrounding EMS services and 17 other organizations who are members of the Northeast Ambulance Alliance. If you become ill or injured in any of these communities and require medically necessary emergency ambulance service, your Cranberry Township EMS subscription will be honored as if you were a member of their service.
If I have health insurance, do I need a subscription?
Yes. Your subscription assures that you will not incur any unnecessary bills for medically necessary emergency ambulance service, regardless of your insurance coverage. Most insurance companies do not pay 100% of ambulance bills. If your coverage includes a deductible or a co-payment, you could be left with a large balance to pay out-of-pocket. Keep in mind non-subscribers are responsible for full payment of all applicable charges, which often can exceed more than $600.00 per trip. The subscription program is only available to those that have health insurance coverage.
How does Cranberry Township EMS get reimbursed if I am transported to the hospital?
In the event that you need ambulance service, Cranberry Township EMS will submit a bill to your insurance company. Insurance payments are then applied to your balance. Once your insurance benefits are exhausted, we write off any remaining balance minus your $50 Service Charge. Subscribers do not have to pay any out-of-pocket expenses for emergency ambulance services no matter how frequently you need our services other than the $50 Service Charge per use.
What should I do if my insurance company sends me a check for payment of services provided by Cranberry Township EMS?
All recipients of services are required to immediately forward any and all reimbursement received to Cranberry Township EMS. Failure to do so will result in the immediate termination of any subscription agreement and you will be held responsible for payment of all outstanding balances.
What is not covered by a subscription?
The following services are not covered by your subscription.
- Alternative modes of non-emergency transportation, such as wheelchair van and invalid coach transports.
- Transports which do not meet medical necessity criteria, as determined by your health insurance.
- Any charges related to excessive mileage or other non-covered charges for transports, which are based solely on patient and/or physician preference.
- Treatment rendered but refused transportation.
Your paid subscription will help CTEMS continue to protect you and your loved ones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your paid subscription will also save you money, as it takes the place of any co-payments and deductibles should your residence ever need an ambulance for just a $50 service charge.
